Our Story

Established in 2010, Manuel Acres is a family-owned boutique truffière nestled in the fertile soils of Hawke’s Bay. We are a family who turned our love for the outdoors into a shared passion for truffles. Together with our two dogs, Beau and Ace, we spend our winters hunting that unmistakeable scent.


Our Approach

From carefully inoculated host trees to the quiet precision of winter harvest, every stage of production is guided by hands-on expertise and long-term thinking. As a family enterprise, our approach is deliberately measured — small harvests, meticulous grading, and direct relationships with chefs and culinary partners who value provenance as much as flavour.


Our Location

The unique microclimate of Hawke’s Bay — warm summers, cool winters, and free-draining soils — provides ideal conditions for developing truffles of depth, aroma, and complexity. At Manuel Acres, we believe exceptional truffles are not rushed; they are nurtured over years, shaped by season and soil, and harvested only at peak maturity.

Each truffle is found by our amazing truffle dogs, Beau and Ace, carefully unearthed, hand-graded and distributed to our wonderful culinary partners and to our online store. Here you can purchase truffle to use at home, take your dinner party to the next level, or even send to a friend as a special gift.
